The work of his hands...

Dad has been working on this piece most of the year, it seems.  I told him what I needed, and he designed it for me.  The beauty of this pantry is hard to describe; but the value of it is absolutely beyond articulation.  He poured himself into every pencil mark on the plan, and every stroke of the sandpaper.  He is generous and strong and I am anchored by this symbol of his presence in our home.  Thank you, Dad.

Loving Larsmont

Yes, Girlbie slept in the king-sized bed alone, while her brothers cozied up in a double!

I made them bring school work along... just a little bit.
The best view (where I took most of my lake photos) was from Girlbie's room.

The Lake I've Come to Love.

We are so blessed... this past week was spent at Larsmont Cottages on Lake Superior, thanks to generous friends who own a timeshare up there.  It was a slow, comfortable, family time.  We read alot, spent much time in conversation and rest.  I took a lot of photos and decided it was about time to put something new on this blog!

Do you see the steam off the Lake?

I am smitten by her, this Lake.

Sunset

I think it looks like fireflies or fairy dust around the tree.

The weather changed; but still, she is so beautiful.

learning from grandpa...

Yesterday, Dad came over to wash the deck for us.  When that was done, he taught Gracie to plant tomatoes and radishes, and they planted climbing beans for me too... I am so excited to have things growing around here; but moreso for Gracie to get the love of dirt passed down from Grandpa.
